A Bit About Me

I’m Justina Skowronska known as Ms Skylark, the founder of Check My Child and a passionate Special Educational Needs (SEN) specialist. Over the years, I’ve supported children facing a wide range of challenges, including autism, ADHD, speech delays, and behavioral difficulties. My mission is simple: to empower parents and help children thrive by unlocking their unique potential.

With a Master’s degree in Special Educational Needs and ongoing studies in Psychology, I combine expertise with compassion to offer practical, evidence-based support.

I am a passionate and dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) teacher with extensive experience working with children on the autism spectrum and those facing a wide range of additional challenges. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of supporting children with diverse needs, including those with challenging behaviours, non-verbal communication, self-harming tendencies, social and emotional difficulties, anxiety, ADHD, low language development, trauma, dyspraxia, hypermobility, and eating disorders.

I am a highly ambitious and hard-working educator, driven by the belief that every child deserves the opportunity to progress and succeed at their own pace. There is no greater reward for me than seeing the children I teach develop their skills, grow in confidence, and achieve milestones they once thought unattainable. I recognise that teaching children with complex needs requires flexibility and innovation, and I am dedicated to employing creative solutions and strategies to support my students' learning and well-being.

My educational background further strengthens my ability to support children with SEN. I hold a Master’s Degree in Special Educational Needs (Inclusive Perspectives) from the University of Roehampton, where I developed a deep understanding of inclusive educational practices. Additionally, I am currently pursuing an MA in Psychology at the Academy of Economics and Humanities, which allows me to deepen my understanding of the psychological aspects of learning and behaviour, particularly in children with autism and other developmental disorders. I also hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Logopaedics (Speech and Language Studies) from the University of GdaÅ„sk, which has provided me with a solid foundation in communication therapies—an essential component of working with children with speech and language delays.
